Permits for Mohare Danda Trekking

The Mohare Danda trek requires every trekker to obtain both an Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and a Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) card.

Through the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit ACAP, the Annapurna region maintains protection of both its environmental elements and wildlife population. Tourists from abroad must provide NPR 3,000 to acquire the ACAP, whereas Nepali residents only need to pay NPR 100.

Trekkers are tracked through the TIMS card for security purposes. Trekking separately will cost you NPR 2,000, yet combining it with a guide reduces the payment to NPR 1,000.

The Nepal Tourism Board offices in Kathmandu and Pokhara provide services to issue these two permits. The passport and passport-sized photographs are required during the application process.

Mohare Trek Travel Insurance

Travellers need Mohare Danda Trek travel insurance to protect against unexpected situations during their journey. Medical costs, alongside emergency helicopter evacuation and trekking-related accidents, must be included in the travel insurance plan.

As this trek ascends to great altitude, you need to purchase insurance that covers heights between 3,300 meters.

Verify that your travel policy includes protection for cancelled trips along with coverage during delays, and protection against lost baggage or important documents.

Trekking participants must keep their insurance policy along with emergency contact information handy in case they require immediate help.

Winter trekking can provide excellent experiences to those who prepare properly and appreciate this season. The monsoon season (June to August) brings extensive rainfall that makes paths muddy and less visibility because of mist and clouds.

Fitness and Acclimatization

People with normal fitness can complete this trek successfully. Daily walks between 4 to 6 hours connect challenging uphill paths to descending terrain. Walking, along with light cardio exercises, form the foundation for trek preparation.

Medical help becomes necessary if your symptoms worsen, so descend quickly to a lower altitude. The journey will become safer with a professional guide joining you.

Environmental Impacts and Reasonable Trek

The Mohare Danda region suffers environmental damage because of ignorant behaviour by people engaging in trekking activities.

The contamination from plastic waste, such as bottles and wrappers, damages both the trail and animals. Plant life, together with soil faces degradation through the actions of large group activities.

Travelers who wish to protect the environment should bring their personal water supplies along with purification tablets since they should also throw their garbage properly. Responsible trekking practices will ensure Mohare Danda remains attractive to visitors who will come in the future.
