Langtang Region lies in the north-central Himalayas of the Bagmati province of Nepal. This region is situated 51 kilometers north of the Kathmandu Valley. This is one of the most suitable trekking regions near the Kathmandu Valley, with short day hikes or week-long ventures into the district of lakes. This is an ideal region if you are short on time but still want to trek the Himalayas. It offers a moment to explore the rich, blended, beautiful cultures of the native Tamangs people.
This region is renowned for hosting the Langtang National Park, which eventually constitutes China's autonomous Tibet region. Approximately 25% of the park is forested. Trees include deciduous oak and maple, evergreens like pine, and various types of rhododendron. Langtang has over 70 glaciers of differing sizes and high-altitude lakes, including Gosainkunda, Parbati Kunda, Bhairav Kunda, and Dudhkunda. The views from the top are dignified, with the Himalayan peaks like Langtang Lirung to the north, Gang Chhenpo to the south, and Dorje Lhakpa. This region is the purely Himalayan wonder.
To enter into this region, we have to drive to Sybrubesi to start the Langtang trek. The Langtang trekking route passes through less-visited distinct ethnic groups' settlements and dense woodlands to the beautiful village of Kyangin Gompa. We take a day hike to surrounding peaks. We stay at the tea house, allowing more interaction with the local peoples to know their culture and lifestyle. We want to inform you that the teahouse at Langtang village has been rebuilt already.
